SKY TECH, a leading Chinese
Industrial Drone enterprise, has officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Universidade Brasil (UB), a prestigious Brazilian higher education institution. The two parties will cooperate in depth in
equipment supply, joint teaching, and equipment sales, jointly promoting the development of the drone industry and talent training in Brazil.
Universidade Brasil, founded in 1968 and located in São Paulo State, is one of Brazil’s renowned universities with three campuses and 24 undergraduate programs. It plans to launch Brazil’s first Unmanned Aircraft Technology undergraduate program in 2027, which will cover drone principles, design, operation, simulation, and practical applications. The program has been approved by the Brazilian Ministry of Education (MEC) and will be taught at the Fernandópolis Campus, equipped with dedicated drone laboratories, training runways, simulators, and assembly and maintenance kits.
Brazil’s drone market boasts enormous potential. By June 2025, the number of registered unmanned aircraft (UAs) in Brazil had reached 125,832, with the agricultural sector accounting for 72.5% of applications—far exceeding other fields such as cargo transport (17.4%), firefighting (5.5%), and topographic surveying (2.3%). The market size is projected to grow from US$300 million in 2025 to **US$5.3 billion by 2050**, accounting for 4–5% of the global drone market.
Under the cooperation agreement, Universidade Brasil will provide physical infrastructure (campus, laboratories, classrooms), part of the teaching staff, and support for certification processes (ANATEL/ANAC), as well as physical space for SKY TECH product promotion. SKY TECH will supply drones and basic training kits, contribute technical expertise for curriculum development, and dispatch professional instructors for joint teaching. Both sides will also collaborate on equipment sales, leveraging the university’s influence to expand SKY TECH’s market presence in Brazil.
"This cooperation marks a crucial step for SKY TECH to enter the Brazilian and even Latin American markets," said a spokesperson for SKY TECH. "By integrating our industrial drone technology with Universidade Brasil’s educational resources, we can cultivate localized professional talents while promoting the application of advanced drone solutions in Brazil’s agriculture, firefighting, environmental monitoring, and other fields."
Luiz Sergio Vanzela, PhD, Professor and Coordinator of the Ark Group | Drone & Tech at Universidade Brasil, added: "We are honored to partner with SKY TECH, a global leader in industrial drones. The new program will bridge academia and industry, equipping students with cutting-edge skills to meet the booming demand for drone professionals in Brazil."
As a high-tech enterprise focusing on R&D and application of multi-scenario industrial drones, SKY TECH’s products cover agricultural plant protection, cleaning, firefighting, spraying, and delivery, with a global market presence. This cooperation with Universidade Brasil will further consolidate its layout in the Latin American market, accelerating the localization of technology, talents, and services.
In the future, both parties will take this cooperation as a starting point to deepen exchanges in technological innovation, achievement transformation, and talent training, contributing to the high-quality development of the drone industry in Brazil and even South America.
