Brazil’s UB University Establishes Strategic Partnership with SKY Tech in Drone Technology

Recently, Universidade Brasil (UB University) signed a strategic cooperation agreement with SKY Tech, embarking on in-depth collaboration focused on drone technology, precision agriculture applications, and professional talent development.

UB University boasts Brazil’s first officially accredited academic program in drone technology, supported by fully equipped laboratories, practical training grounds, and a comprehensive educational curriculum. Its graduates find employment across a wide range of sectors, including agricultural surveying, security and inspection, firefighting and maintenance, logistics, and advertising.

Statistical data indicates that as of June 2025, the number of registered drones in Brazil exceeded 125,000, with agricultural applications accounting for 72.5%—ranking as the leading sector. Furthermore, it is projected that by 2050, Brazil’s drone market will constitute 4% to 5% of the global market, highlighting a significant shortage of skilled professionals within the industry.

The two parties have established a clear division of responsibilities: UB University provides the physical facilities—including venues, laboratories, and teaching infrastructure—along with support for regulatory compliance and certification; meanwhile, SKY Tech contributes the necessary drone training equipment, practical kits, and specialized technical instructors.

This collaboration leverages the complementary strengths of both academia and industry; it not only enhances the university's academic program development but also facilitates SKY Tech’s rapid expansion into the Brazilian market, while simultaneously supplying skilled drone technology professionals to key sectors in Brazil, such as precision agriculture, security, and emergency response.
